Alan Moloney

Since completing a bachelor’s degree in Counselling in 2017, Alan has held a diverse range of therapeutic roles.

These encompass treatment for trauma & PTSD, addiction, depression & anxiety, suicidality, grief, relationship & family counselling, community mental health, and working with children and adolescents.

Alan has a keen interest in emerging developments in the field of trauma treatments and has a special interest in psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Alan has completed additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Suicide Prevention, Family Inclusive & Child Sensitive Practice, Working with Psychosis, Mental Health First Aid and Biopsychosocial assessments.

Originally from Ireland, Alan has resided in Australia for twenty years and now considers it home. Prior to becoming a Therapist, he enjoyed a successful career in Executive Search and recruitment, and has integrated this prior experience in the corporate sector, with his training in psychology and counselling, to successfully operate a career coaching practice.

In 2022, Alan completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (equivalent to a Bachelor of Psychological Science) and intends to go on to complete further postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology, in order to best fulfill his passion for working with people to help them heal and recover from trauma.
