April Pearman

April is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian  Psychological Society (APS).

In addition, she holds a post-graduate certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy from London’s Regents College and is a graduate of Harvard Medical School, having completed a post-graduate qualification in global mental health via the Harvard Programme in Refugee Trauma (HPRT).

For over 25 years April has worked in the complex trauma field in a variety of roles. Her work is evidence based and client centred. She is dedicated to trauma recovery- supporting survivors to thrive. She is available to work with Teens and Adults.

April has experience working in Australia, the U.K and Sierra Leone (in services for Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Torture Rehabilitation, International Development, Therapeutic Communities and Youth Services). Her specialist area is working with survivors to facilitate recovery from trauma. She has expertise in the areas of Domestic & Family Violence, Childhood Abuse/Neglect, Sexual Trauma, Veterans Support, 1st responders, Torture & War Trauma and Complex Grief.

April is an experienced leader in trauma based recovery services, has spoken at numerous local, national and international conferences and has authored a variety of publications in the areas of trauma and recovery. She is an approved AHPRA Supervisor and has provided trauma informed supervision to allied health practitioners for over 20 years.
